Google for Education's Certifications provide opportunities for educators to demonstrate their mastery of digital tools and best practices in classroom technology integration and pedagogy. Google Certified Educator Level 1
Level 1 Google Certified Educators demonstrate mastery of implementing G Suite tools in their teaching practice in order to enhance teaching and learning. Before taking the Level 1 Exam, it is recommended (but not required) that you complete the Fundamentals Training for new learners.
Google Certified Educator Level 2
Level 2 Google Certified Educators demonstrate the successful integration of a wider range of Google tools and other technologies in order to transform their teaching practice. Before taking the Level 2 Exam, it is recommended (but not required) that you complete the Advanced Training for new learners. It is also highly recommended (but not required) that you obtain Level 1 certification prior to pursuing Level 2 certification.
Google for Education Certified Trainer Program
Google for Education Certified Trainers are passionate and driven education professionals with a desire to help others transform their classrooms with technology. Candidates of the Certified Trainer Program:
- Must hold both Level 1 and Level 2 Certified Educator credentials
- Complete the Certified Trainer Course
- Pass the Trainer Skills Assessment
- Submit a three-minute video and trainer application
NEW: Google for Education Certified Coach Program
Designed specifically for instructional coaches, Google for Education's newest certification program empowers coaches to work 1:1 with educators to transform instruction across every classroom. Candidates for the Google for Education Certified Coach Program:
- Are coaches whose position entails working 1:1 with educators at least 70% of the time
- Must hold both Level 1 and Level 2 Certified Educator credentials
- Complete the Certified Coach Curriculum
- Pass the Certified Coach Skills Assessment
- Create a Coaching Portfolio and Program Application
Google for Education Certified Innovator Program
Google for Education Certified Innovators are passionate educators who use technology to solve big challenges and advocate for impactful use of technology to innovate and improve classrooms, schools, and communities. Candidates for the Google Certified Innovator Program:
- Must hold Level 2 Certified Educator credentials
- Identify a challenge in education that they would like to try to solve
- Interview stakeholders affected by the identified challenge and create a 90-second video about the challenge and the desire to solve it
- Apply to the Innovator Program
